The LRC is a place for learning, research, and reading.
Students are welcome in the LRC:
During class times, students have access to the 6 LRC iMacs, 9 LRC chromebooks, and their own devices.
During lunchtimes in the LRC, students can use the iMacs (desktop computers) for school work, but no other devices are to be used at lunchtime.
Expectations of student behaviour
Because we want everyone to have an enjoyable and productive time in the LRC, whether they are involved in learning or reading activities, everyone must behave respectfully and responsibly in the LRC.
We have 4 basic rules:
Borrowing from the LRC
How many items can I borrow?
You may borrow up to 6 items at once. But please ask Mrs Boniface if you would like more.
How long can I keep items for?
Books can be borrowed for 3 weeks.
Graphic novels and magazines for 1 week.
Items can be renewed as long as there are no "Reserves" on it ( a Reserve means another student is waiting to borrow the item).
What can't I borrow?
Reference books can not be borrowed and some other items with a "Not For Loan" sticker, such as "Where's Wally".
New Books on display can not be borrowed while they are on display, but you can place a Reserve on them and borrow them once they are off display.
What happens if I don't return my loans on time?
You can not borrow any new items if you have overdue books.
You will be charged the replacement cost of any item that is more than two months overdue.
What happens if I lose a book?
You will be charged the replacement cost for any item that you lose or that is more than two months overdue.
